安全 Compliance

的 Compliance division of the 办公室 校园安全 is responsible for mitigating fire 和 occupational safety hazards through compliance with township, state 和 federal 法规 that regulate occupational 和 fire safety. This is accomplished through policy adoption, public education 和 检查. 的 campus can also assist in compliance by submitting the appropriate reports or forms.

校园安全 also partners with Plant Services to maintain compliance for environmental safety.

的 Compliance division is staffed by a full-time Compliance Lieutenant 和 a Compliance Officer who is also a fire-extinguisher technician. Other division officers are also cross-trained in various areas of compliance, including 检查 for fire extinguishers, egress 和 occupational safety.

Policy Adoption

的 校园安全 & Risk Management Committee adopts University policies that cover a myriad of safety related items, including fire 和 occupational safety. 访问我们的 政策页面 to view the adopted policies.

University policies are based on adopted township, state 和 federal statues, as well as best practices.

Public Education

To help mitigate hazards, the 办公室 校园安全 conducts public educationt training events to help the campus be aware of hazards, how to prevent them, 和 how to respond to them. Training is available through:

检查

All of our employees are responsible to conduct campus safety 检查. This is done through scheduled 检查 (fire extinguishers, 火灾警报), daily walk throughs, 和 even through security camera footage. 安全 hazards are reported to the Compliance Lieutenant 和 to the affected area supervisor.

报告 & 形式

Recreational Burn Permit - This permit is required to be submitted to 校园安全 for approval no later than two weeks prior to any open burning event on University property. 

Supervisor Accident Report Form (SARF)—This form is to be completed in response to an injury or a near-miss accident that affected an Andrews University employee.

Personal Injury Report Form—This form is to be completed in response to an injury that affected a non-Andrews University employee.
